The stairwell

Rosalie had been brushing the extensive staircase for over an hour and she was no where near finished. She sat down on one of the steps and took a deep breath before carrying on, she soon passed a guard who was eyeing her suspicously but she just ignored him and carried on sweeping the never-ending staircase. After a while, she found it hard to tell the exact time, her muscles were sore and stiff but she carried on with knowledge she'd be punished for slacking off and there was no place to take a quick break as the guards lined to walls. She was thinking how long there must be left of the staircase when she lost her footing she fell down the staircase, when she had stopped a guard picked her up by the scruff of her collar and glared at her. "Sorry, sir" she muttered quietly, her head was throbbing from the fall.

Shisui, the head of the palace's army, was climbing the seemingly neverending stairs, his leather boots marking a loud clumping noise on the stone. He was holding the wrist of a long brown-haired girl in a red robe. He had a strange, suspiciously dark, even slighly mad look on his face. The girl looked frightened, and she was doing a bad job covering it up. She tried to trail behind, but she seemed to be pulled along too fast by Shisui as she looked worried about where she placed her feet.

Shisui stopped when he came to Rosalie.
"GET OUT OF MY WAY!" he roared, clamping his hand round clumps of her hair and pulling her backwards, sending her he rest of the way down the stairs at an alarming pace.

Rosalie opened her eyes at the bottom of her staircase, her head was throbbing and was sticky with blood, she felt her head and when she withdrew her hand it was stained red. She winced before slowly standing up, holding onto the banister for support. She was breathing heavily and felt like she was about to be sick or pass out. She didn't know where to go but decieded to go to the servants quaters which meants going up the stair she slowly made her way up but her vision was going hazy and she could feel the blood still trickling from her head where she had hit it and the pain was getting worse after a short while the pain from her throbbing head was getting unbearable and then she stopped and fainted on the steps, she could hear noises and feet on the steps until the silence came.

"We can't have blood on the stairs." sniffed Shishui, disgusted. He let go of the girl whose wrist he had been holding. There was a red mark where he had been gripping it tightly.
"Go and do something about her, Kyando." he ordered her, and the red robed girl ran lightly down the steps to where Rosalie lay at the bottom.
"Wake up," she ordered her in a similar cold tone to her master. "Get up."
She motioned to one of the guards.
"Take her somewhere where no-one can see her. And do something about this blood," she ordered, before running lightly back up the stone steps, her robe flying out behind her. A guard dragged Rosalie off, aiming for the corner of the courtyard. Another guard signalled to the top of the stairs, and at once another servant ran down to clean up the mess.
